The essential steps in the creation of a ceramic object are:

Clay:  two types of clay exist, whether Italian or foreign, and these influence the method of production

Shaping: the techniques of working terracotta are “colombino”, “tornio” or pouring into plaster moulds

Drying:  once the object has been created it is heat dried in well-aired areas, out of direct sunlight

Oven:  a fundamental part of the process to give consistency to the objects created, the temperature varies according to the clay used.

Glaze and colouring:  the object is immersed or sprayed with glaze made from metal oxides and decorated with coloured wax.

Second Firing: at this point the object is once again placed in the oven at temperatures ranging from 600 to 1000 °.

Lustre: to obtain a lustred majolica, the object is painted with gold, silver and ruby red and returned to the oven once again
